RM's Mono: Analyzing the Mixtape That Changed My Life Philosophy (Welcome Home, RM!)

Описание: Over a decade ago, a young rapper named Kim Namjoon became the first member and leader of a new hip-hop group. Designed to be “bulletproof boy scouts,” the nascent group called BTS evolved and grew together through hard work and dedication into the global sensation we know today. During that time, the band and ARMY have been guided and uplifted by the words of that young rapper, who has since grown into the wise wordsmith we all know today as RM. In this video, in honor of his military discharge, I’m going to be exploring one of my favorite examples of RM’s deep and meaningful lyrics: his 2018 mixtape, "mono." I’ll be analyzing the mixtape as a whole and exploring each of its seven tracks, diving into the themes, messages, and personal meanings I draw from this beloved piece of work as a celebration not only of the work itself, but of the thoughtful lyricist who wrote it.
