#9 - We Do Not Belong Together - SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE
When Sondheim and James Lapine set out to create SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, it was on the heels of Sondheim's disastrous flop of MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. With Sondheim writing a deeply personal piece about the creation of art, and the torment that goes along with it, he penned what many believe to be his most beautiful work.
Here, Dot and George have broken up, and she's about to move to America with her new lover and impending child (which is George's). George is nearing completion on his masterpiece painting, which has been, to say the least, all-consuming.

This week's focus is another tremendous organization. @healthyhoodchi is a community based, non-profit organization based in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Currently, a twenty-year life expectancy gap exists in Chicago between underprivileged communities and affluent communities. To reduce that gap, Healthy Hood was created after partnering with Youth Health Service Corps, a youth based health-initiative program that works with local youth to educate and eradicate the five most common diseases that act as killers in communities of color.
