The Federal Reserve announced it has injected $18.5 billion into the banking system this week. This is the fourth-largest liquidity injection since 2020, and it was done via overnight repos. An overnight repo is a way for banks to get short-term cash very quickly. Anytime banks fail, the American taxpayer pays for it, and of course, the banks want to continue to protect their bottom line and not give us yield on stablecoins, which would be a minimal cost for them.
