This is an Mtv Cribs-style tour of our dry cabin.
To answer your questions:
This cabin is about eight minutes away from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and about 15 minutes from downtown. You can actually catch a bus right at the end of the driveway.
For showers, I used the UAF facilities for free or solar shower in the summer. There are places where you can pay for a shower if you're not UAF-affiliated.
The grossest thing about living in a dry cabin is something you would never guess and that is a little secret among those of us capable of the determination and self-deprivation necessary to live in these cabins.
I watch Gilmore Girls because it restores my faith in humanity.
