So I'll be honest, this fight isn't particularly difficult. However, I wanted to show it for a reason: Gengar is ridiculous. It's unreal to me that a TM as powerful as Substitute is available before the second gym. In this fight in particular, Gengar really shines with its Substitute/Disable set, as several of Kiki's pokemon only have one means of actually hurting Gengar. With this set, only two pokemon can actually fight back: Machamp and Lucario. Once those two are down, and they are sent out early, the fight is over.
Substitute strats have been a pillar of this run so far. Mono Poison is so effective at using them because of incredibly easy access to Black Sludge. Substitute + Leftovers is a staple of competitive play, and most Pokemon have to wait until post restoration to get it. Not mine. Poison types tend to be pretty bulky in general, so I get excellent use out of the move when any one of an opponent's Pokemon struggles to hurt any of mine.
I completely admit, the last substitute on the Medicham was completely unnecessary and showing off. Deal with it.
