Beach Access and a Threatened Track

Описание: In recent years, service on the passenger rail link between Los Angeles and San Diego has been interrupted multiple times because of the collapse of coastal bluffs that’s damaged portions of the seaside track. In response, transportation planners want to protect the route with enormous boulders and other coastal armor, but environmental activists argue that remedy will cause lasting harm to the beach. Some are saying a multi-billion-dollar proposal to move the rail inland might be the only long-term solution that makes long-term sense.
