Wishing the classical maestro Ustad Rashid Khan a very happy birthday.
Ustad Rashid Khan is among the leading Hindustani Classical Musicians that our country has today. Belonging to the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana, his singing exudes innate melodic brilliance - and he has truly revolutionized Khyaal singing with his emotionally fueled renditions over the years. He has been honored with the Padma Shri and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2006), as well as the Padma Bhushan (2022) by the Govt. of India, for his immense contribution to the world of Indian Classical Music.
On the occasion of his birthday, we present a glimpse of his performance from our Teen Prahar Festival, where he sings the beautiful Raag Pahadi.
