Today I show you how to store wood in your workshop. In other words I'm showing you how to safely store wood in a shop. Storing lumber in a shop is important for many of you and the time has finally come. I'm taking some time out of my day and cleaning up my shop. It's like unloading the dishwasher, I just avoid it at all costs. Today I got tired of looking at all the leaning piles of lumber around the shop and decided that I needed to have a permanent storage area for the lumber that is constantly coming into my shop from my sawmill. Since I"m typically not looking to spend a fortune on upgrades like this, I find some scrap material around the shop to make a wooden vertical lumber storage rack. If you've got an existing wall available, this design that I came up with is really simple and requires very little material. In this video you can also check out my miter saw and table saw. The miter saw that I've been using for years is the Dewalt sliding compound miter saw 12-inch (dws779). The table saw I've had for atleast 10 years is the Porter Cable 10" Table Saw Model: 270TS. Both of these saws are solid and I'd say they are worth buying if you have the chance. Be forewarned however, if you've never used a miter saw with a laser/light guide line, you'll never go back to a saw without one. The Dewalt miter saw that I use has a light that is projected downwards onto the wood material to show where the blade will cut. It's very very accurate in my experience.
