Chairman of the House Special Committee on Crude Oil Theft and Pipeline Vandalism, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has emphasized the committee's role in combating crude oil theft and protecting national assets in the oil and gas sector. In a meeting in Abuja, he highlighted the committee's importance in the economy and praised the House leadership for their ongoing support. He noted the alignment of the committee’s goals with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s concerns over attacks on oil facilities and insecurity in local communities. Hon. Doguwa, who also leads the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), announced plans for a joint meeting of both committees to address overlapping issues. He revealed that five bills targeting crude oil theft are currently being considered and will soon be presented as initiatives from the committee.
