Attempting to Clean and Restore a Webkinz

Описание: I have been WAITING to do this video for YEARS, and it’s finally come. We’re here to fix up Jin, a Signature Arctic Fox who’s been obviously well loved and thrown in a dryer.

I actually didn’t do a lot of research for this video and it’s safe to say I’m no expert, but hopefully I left you with a decent amount of information to where the rest isn’t much of an issue.
Really, the only way to deal with heat damaged faux fur is to replace it, that much I have researched. Either pull out the fibers and replace it with new ones or recreate the damaged area out of new material. I hope I hammered home enough why you don’t put these things in the dryer. Even with no heat and just the tumble, the nose and eyes are bound to get scratched. Hairdryers also pose the same risk unless you can turn the heat off, but just use a fan.
While on the topic of machines, I know the tag says to hand wash only, so you’d be right to be wary of using the washer. The truth is, when done correctly, it just works and does a really good job. Only downside is you miss the fun of filling up the sink and hand bathing your plushies.
And again, if a plush really doesn’t need to be cleaned, then don’t. If there’s just a spot, like their foot got sat in mud, just spot clean in the sink with regular dish soap. That’s how I’ve handled issues like sap, which oddly enough required mayonnaise to get off…? Don’t know why that worked, but to this day, Nevada still smells like a sandwich. (She’s a Signature Arctic Hare, by the way.)
