Being positive in the face of obstacles is the key to remaining focused on action and sustaining our wellness as Dr. Srinivasan explains in this session. Being positive is really about staying sustainably positive rather than momentary surges of optimism or positive thinking and involves sustained effort and even will power and practice.
Why should we stay positive? Because facing the inevitable obstacles of day to day with a focus on problems causes us to "get what we expect".
This happens because the focus on problems distracts from solutions and focus on solutions needs us to stay positive. All this doesn't happen when needed without sustained practice and effort including the effort needed to reject negative thinking around us.
Finally Dr Srinivasan explains the link to karmayoga- wherein focusing on building our knowledge , building our capacity for discipline through sadhana and treating all our effort as seva or service, builds us virtuous cycle of positive company (satsang ) and helps us on our path of remaining action rather than worrying about the outcomes- one of the finest ways to remain positive.
