In Tim's world, it is always time for tea, at least using this clock which always points to four o'clock precisely! It consists of a glass circle that has had a clock face painted onto it using hydrofluoric acid. This etches a shallow design onto the surface of the glass, and then you wash the acid off. The design is not immediately visible, but if you hold the glass in the steam from a kettle that is boiling, or even just breathe on the glass, the clock face becomes visible. And since the kettle has now boiled, we can make that cup of tea!

From the New York Toy Fair, a toy with lots of zips! Of course, once you have unzipped all the zips, the item now has no discernible use at all!

A very elegant card from Japan. It is supplied flat so it can be posted, but you can open it out and press the switch at the top of the card, and the sun (or is it the moon?) illuminates and we hear the sound of birdsong.

Finally, a catalogue from a company that makes lenticular designs. The catalogue lists all the different kinds of animation that can be achieved using lenticular technology, from morphing from one design to a different one, or maybe zooming in to an object etc. Tim didn't actually buy any of the products but he loves the catalogue!
