In this video, I’m sharing the traditional halwai-style Mawa (Khoya) Gujiya recipe that turns out perfectly crispy from outside and rich, sweet, and flavorful from inside.
This classic Indian festive sweet is specially prepared during the Holi festival and is loved by everyone. Follow this step-by-step recipe to make perfect gujiya at home for your family and guests.

Ingredients:
Maida....300 gm
Ghee.......60 gm
Salt .....1 pinch
Mawa....250 gm
Powdered sugar.....150 gm
Chopped almonds....3 tbsp
Chopped cashew.......3 tbsp
Dessicated coconut....2 tbsp
Raisins.......2 tbsp
Chopped pistachio....2 tbsp
Cardamom powder....1/2 tbsp
Method:
1. Take maida in a bowl. Add salt & ghee. Rub it properly. Make a semi soft dough with the help of water. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
2. For stuffing, heat a pan, add Mawa & keep it stirring for 5 minutes. Add almonds, cashew, coconut and raisins.Mix well. Keep it aside to cool down.
3. Add sugar, cardamom and pistachio. Mix well.
4. Take a small portion of the dough and make a ball. Roll it like a puri. Place the puri on a mould and keep two tbsp of stuffing.
5. Seal it with the help of some slurry. Press it tightly.
6. Shape all the gujiyas and let them rest for 15 minutes.
7. Heat oil and fry the gujiyas on low flame until golden brown in colour.
