INTRODUCTION

Lord Messiah The Oratorio - A Liturgical Canticle is the collection of the songs Father has given me over the years, which I called Saviour of the World. At this time, he has put it on my heart to arrange them as the Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost Oratorios. There are 12 songs in each oratorio, and there are 12 oratorios in all, that is, more than 140 songs. The first three oratorios are a liturgy of the Incarnation, the Resurrection and Communion respectively. They speak of the Mystery of Christ in the form of songs.

The Christmas oratorio sings the beauty of his Incarnation, and the joy he brought to the world in his advent. The Easter Oratorio sings the power of his Resurrection whereby he has delivered us from the bondage of corruption and revealed life and immortality in his body, which body we are members of so that we are risen together with him and share in his glory. The Pentecost Oratorio sings the tenderness of our adoption and intimacy we have with God through the person of Jesus Christ, so we cry, Abba Father. It is the Communion of the Holy Spirit.

From the fourth oratorio to the twelfth, though grouped under the titles Christmas, Easter and Pentecost, the oratorios do not necessarily contain the songs pertaining to that particular mystery yet all celebrate the victory and goodness of our God towards us in Christ Jesus our Lord. These songs, I received them since childhood and have been singing them to the Lord for all these years. Our existence in itself is the fruit of our communion with the Lord, yet if I have to pinpoint some strategic moments where I have loved the Lord passionately and fervently, it is when I have sung these songs to him.

These songs are an outward expression of my communion with the Lord, though they stand short and cannot even compare to the substance itself. It was the Lord in the songs that I sang, but now that they are released somehow, they cannot even convey what I saw, felt, and touched at the time Father gave them to me. It was total bliss yet the phenomenal world, the natural and physical do not have the capacity to reproduce in essence that beauty I heard, which I sang, which I received at that moment when Father gave me the songs. It wasn’t a song; it was the Lord himself.
