Why a custom built PC is better than an OEM brand PC today

For the past decade, the build quality of name brand OEM computers has overall been in decline. What used to be a mostly ATX compliant desktop PC with a brand slapped on the front of it is now a proprietary design which can't easily be repaired or rebuilt with off the shelf parts. So if you are wanting a desktop PC which will offer you many years of service, and can be repaired with common off the shelf PC components, your best bet is to build your own computer or support a small business by having a PC shop build it for you. There are also options such as CyberPower or iBuyPower, however I can't exactly recommend those based off of my own experience fixing build quality issues with some of their products.
