Описание: The Johns Hopkins Global Biotechnology Innovation Center (JHBIC) Special Seminar will feature Dr. Won Jin Ho, Associate Professor of Cancer Immunology and GI Oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, presenting his talk titled “Retooling the Tumor Microenvironment to Sensitize Cancers to Immune-Based Platforms.” In this webinar, Dr. Ho will discuss emerging strategies to overcome resistance to immunotherapy in “cold” tumors such as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma. His laboratory uses high-dimensional mass cytometry and spatial-omics to dissect the tumor microenvironment and uncover mechanisms that limit anti-tumor immunity, particularly the interaction between T-cell exhaustion and suppressive myeloid populations. He will also highlight recent work identifying PTPN22 as a novel therapeutic target capable of reprogramming myeloid cells and lowering T-cell activation thresholds, offering a potential strategy to convert immune-resistant tumors into immunotherapy-responsive ones.
