What Happens After Surgery?
After blepharoplasty, it is normal to experience swelling and bruising around the eyes and mid-face. To reduce discomfort, applying cold compresses every hour for 3-4 minutes during the first 72 hours is essential. Some patients may feel a foreign body sensation in the eyes, which can be managed with lubricating eye drops.

Recovery Timeline and Care Tips
Most of the swelling and bruising will go down in about two weeks, and you will be socially presentable by then. If you have sutures, they will be removed after 5-7 days. Wearing sunglasses can help hide swelling when going out. After two weeks, it is important to wear sunscreen to prevent pigmentation issues. Some patients may need additional medication for post-inflammatory pigmentation (PIH) and scar care for several months.
