STORYLINE:
Overnight rain across the Gaza Strip further worsened conditions for displaced families living in torn tents with little food or firewood for warmth, as floodwaters pooled into muddy ponds around them amid a continued dire humanitarian situation despite an ongoing ceasefire.

AP footage showed a displacement camp in Khan Younis soaked by overnight rain, with floodwater pooling inside tents as residents used buckets, pots and containers to throw it out.

Ramiz Nabaat, a displaced man from Rafah, said tents were soaked and that he and his family didn’t have a chance to have Suhoor - the last meal before fasting in Ramadan the next day.

“We are going through the same suffering we experienced when we were first displaced,” he said.

Another displaced from Rafah, Riyad Abu Azra, said that there's no wood to start a fire and bring some warmth to families when heavy rains hit the precarious tents of the camp.
