The Cross-Cultural Center (CCC) at San Diego State University-Imperial Valley (SDSU-IV), is proud to have launched the "Building Bridges Graduation 2022" at Casa de la Cultura de Mexicali, on Saturday May 14.
This historic ceremony is dedicated to building bridges between the US and Mexico border. The purpose of this ceremony is to provide graduates, whose immediate family members cannot cross the border, the full experience of celebrating together the accomplishment of their academic achievement. In this first binational graduation, students had the opportunity to celebrate their graduation in the city where they have grown-up and developed a culture of education and hard work.
This ceremony is of great importance to continue creating bonds of friendship, community, and collaboration between our sister communities, but also to create inclusive educational systems for our students that we share on both sides of the border.
