To begin, open the Discord app on your mobile device or go to [https://discord.com](https://discord.com) on your desktop browser. Make sure you're signed in to the correct account. If you're using the mobile app, tap on your profile icon located in the bottom right corner to open User Settings. On PC, you'll find the gear icon near your username at the bottom-left of the screen.

From the settings menu, navigate to the 'My Account' section. Scroll down and you’ll see two options: 'Disable Account' and 'Delete Account.' Tap or click on 'Delete Account.' However, if you are the owner of any servers, Discord will prompt you to transfer ownership before you can proceed. To do this, go to each server you own, open Server Settings, select 'Members,' tap the three dots next to a member's name, and choose 'Transfer Ownership.'
