The Staffordshire Hoard is the largest collection of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver metalwork ever discovered, found in 2009 by a metal detectorist in Staffordshire, England.
The hoard consists of almost 4,600 items, mostly high-quality war-gear like sword and helmet fittings, with a total weight of 5.1 kg of gold and 1.4 kg of silver, and is dated to the 7th century.
Experts believe it could have been battlefield loot or a ransom, and it provides invaluable insights into the period's art, craftsmanship, and warrior culture.
