John Armstrong
John Armstrong is chair of the Science and Evidence Board supporting the Wild Salmon Strategy, bringing together some of the leading management-focussed scientists from public, private and charity sectors in Scotland. During his long career studying many of the pressures affecting wild salmon, John was a founding member of the Scottish Fisheries Coordination Centre and head of Scottish Government’s Freshwater Fisheries Laboratory.

Chris Conroy
Chris has over 25 years experience working as an aquatic resource manager. He specialises in maintaining and enhancing the ecological, social and economic benefits of the aquatic environment. He has developed an in-depth knowledge of freshwater, marine and estuarine resource management and the associated stresses, utilisation and conservation demand.

Amelia Heath
Amelia has worked for the Forth Rivers Trust since 2017, initially as the Finance Manager until expanding her role to include project development and project management. Since 2021 Amelia has been managing climate resilience projects throughout the Trust’s operating area, including in the Loch Lomond Trossachs National Park. She also leads the Trust on nature finance, including its pilot nature finance project, Leven LENs. In 2023, Amelia was appointed permanent Co-Director of the Trust.

Victoria Pritchard
Victoria is an evolutionary biologist whose research examines genomic, morphological and behavioural divergence amongst populations, and the consequences of hybridization between those populations. Her work provides direct insights into how the diversity of life arises. It also has practical applications to managing populations of conservation or economic concern. At the UHI Institute for Biodiversity and Freshwater Conservation, she leads research applying genetic and genomic tools to the conservation management of Scotland’s threatened species.

Keith Williams
Keith has worked for fishery boards and trusts for over twenty years and is currently the director of both Kyle of Sutherland Fishery Board and Rivers Trust. His previous employment was as a biologist for the Ness & Beauly Fisheries Trust which followed a spell with Cromarty Firth DSFB.

Willie Yeomans
Willie Yeomans has been a freshwater biologist for nearly 40 years, the last 20 of which have been spent leading the team of scientists at the Clyde River Foundation. He has interests in fish parasitology, sticklebacks, invasive species, environmental education and river pollution, all of which have come in useful in his work on Scotland’s most urban river, and one of the great rivers of the world.
