ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਮਕੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੱਚੀ ਗੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਦੇ ਜੈਕਾਰੇ ਗੁੰਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ | ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਧੁਰਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚਰਖੜੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਉਬਲਦੀਆਂ ਦੇਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਬਲ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਯਾਰੜੇ ਦੇ ਸੱਥਰ 'ਤੇ ਬਹਿ ਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਬੁਰਜ ਮਿਨਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਤ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ | ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰੇ 'ਚ ਅੱਧੀ ਕੌਮ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੋਈ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਲੀਆਂ ਚੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਆਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਹੰਦ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਚੁੰਮਿਆ ਸੀ |
ਜਦੋਂ ਨਖਾਸ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤ ਹਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਉਛਾਲ ਕੇ ਨੇਜਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਬੋਚੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨੇ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਛਾਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ।
ਬੰਦ ਬੰਦ ਕਟਵਾਉਣੇ ਪੁੱਠੀਆਂ ਖੱਲਾਂ ਲਹਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੀ ਨਾ ਉਚਰਨਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਾਨਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਤੱਤੀ ਤਵੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੰਗਤ ਸੀ ।ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਨੀਚੋਂ ਊਚ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਪੰਗਤ ਸੀ।
