National School Breakfast

Описание: National School Breakfast Week (March 2–6, 2026) was a fun celebration in Horry County Schools!

At Socastee Elementary, students and staff marked the occasion with a Medieval-themed breakfast, featuring favorites like chicken and waffles. With knights, royalty, and even a dragon making an appearance, the theme added excitement while encouraging students to start their day with a healthy meal.

Across Horry County Schools, our Nutrition Services teams work hard every day to make sure students have the fuel they need to learn and succeed. In fact, about 38,000 breakfasts and lunches are served daily across the district.

Because HCS provides free breakfast and lunch to all students, our dedicated cafeteria teams arrive early, prepare meals that meet strict nutritional guidelines, and offer a variety of options students enjoy.

But the work goes far beyond the food. Cafeteria staff see students every day, build relationships with them, and often know them by name. Their care and commitment help make school cafeterias welcoming places for students across the district.

National School Breakfast Week is a celebration of healthy students, nutritious meals, and the amazing Nutrition Services staff who help us “slay hunger” in Horry County Schools.
