Once again, super lazy on the video recording editing, so all I have is me playing the 6 string part. Sorry.
After recording an acoustic Chronic Town ( / achoustic-town ) I had a vague idea to keep recording songs chronologically, because somehow I get a kick out of that sort of order. But I couldn't bring myself to record Radio Free Europe, because if you try and play it straight on acoustic guitar it's pretty lifeless - it really needs the edginess and jangle. There's not even that much on the way of backing vocals to help out.
Somehow over the weekend I managed to break through that artistic block, and decided to go for a slowed down version. In here there's a 6 string, a 12 string and a bass, plus some dinky little harmonic overdubs towards the end. Vocally I layered in my own arrangements - I was quite pleased with the acapella version of the bass in the break, reminds me of the Beach Boys, if the Beach Boys weren't quite so good at harmonising.
