Nismo ni znali da stvaramo uspomene za cijeli život.

Kroz ovu ugodnu scenu želim da svi, barem jednom u životu, dožive jednu istinsku, ljudsku ličku priču — onu u kojoj se hladnoća pobjeđuje vatrom, jednostavnošću i ljubavlju.

It carries the warmth of my childhood in Lika — my grandmother’s pole (oven-baked potato halves roasted with bacon until golden and comforting), my grandfather’s homemade slanina (traditional cured and smoked pork belly), the sharp Lika cold outside, and the fire quietly crackling in the old stove.

There was basa on the table — a creamy homemade dairy spread — alongside fresh škripavac, the famous Lika cheese that gently squeaks when you bite into it. Nearby, bowls of kiselo zelje (fermented cabbage) waited to balance the rich winter meals.

We didn’t know we were creating memories for a lifetime. May those happy moments forever fill our hearts.

Through this cozy fireplace scene, I wish everyone could experience at least once in life a truly human Lika story — a place shaped by cold winters, deep forests, simple food, and quiet love, where warmth comes from fire, shared meals, and togetherness.
