This was video shot by one of my students during a demonstration of rotational motion and torque. The main phenomenon to note here is that while the cup and red, clay ball at the end of the plank start at the same height, the ball lands inside the cup after the support is knocked out. This is important because in order for this to happen, the cup must travel a greater distance in the same amount of time (since it is moving along an arc instead of straight down) and thus the ball must accelerate at a rate greater than free-fall!
