Vijay Prashad, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Fred M'membe and Phillip Dexter draw important distinctions between the colonial and neo-colonial project of the Western powers in Africa throughout history and today, and the Chinese development agenda for Africa.
Loans from the IMF and the World Bank come with strings attached that may as well be nooses around the neck of African governments and citizens. These structural reforms are a form of bondage imposed on African governments, the price of which is externalised onto the poorest citizens of these countries.
Historian Vijay Prashad, Kwesi Pratt Jnr of the Social Movement of Ghana, Fred M'membe of Socialist Party Zambia, and Phillip Dexter of the Pan-African Institute for Socialism bust the myth propagated by imperial powers about "Chinese Neo-colonialism"
