Convinced that the USSR was developing some type of mind control weapon, the United States sought out extreme measures to try and beat them to the punch. Perhaps the most notable of these classified experiments would come to be known by MKUltra. A mind control experiment conducted on unsuspecting American citizens through how they reacted to different types of psychoactive drugs, torture and hypnosis. However, what many people possibly don’t know is the myriad of other projects going on at the same time as MKUltra. Operation Midnight Climax, as it was officially called, was a top secret program to see if under the influence of drugs and sex, information could be extracted from high value individuals, however much like MKUltra, these tests were conducted on US citizens without their knowledge.MKUltra stands as perhaps one of the largest classified experiments ever and is a pristine example of the lengths that a government will go to try and be one step ahead of their enemies. Today on Unblurring the Unknown, we explore a secretive government program, perhaps one that we still know very little about the true inner workings of, to see if this truly was some type of sick experiment conducted on the American public for the interests of national security and perhaps some rather strange voyeuristic behavior by government agents that tried to be hidden from the general public.
