The first half of my repair and tuning of a Stanley Sweetheart No.93 Shoulder Plane.
Sorry, no footage of me brazing. I'm not good at it, so I couldn't teach anyone much!
Bought cheaply at a local wood fair, the finished plane is now a valuable addition to my toolbox.
Notes.
This plane had damage which would have made it undesirable to collectors. The flattening and polishing of it that I do here, would reduce the value of an undamaged one.
Brazing repairs are to be preferred to welding, since the lower temperature required should not cause excess stress to the castings.
