Today, City leadership came together in unified coordination hosted by Mayor Bryan Calvo, alongside Police Chief George Fuente, Fire Chief Humfredo Perez, and Chief Communications Officer Ana Isabel Hume as the city continues to monitor escalating developments in Cuba.
As the city with the largest Cuban population in the United States, Hialeah is taking proactive steps to ensure public safety and operational readiness should celebrations occur following a regime change.
Let us be clear: no official City event has been announced, and this is not an invitation to assemble. However, we understand organic gatherings may occur.
Priorities:
✔️ Peaceful expression✔️ Traffic management✔️ Emergency vehicle access✔️ Crowd safety✔️ Protection of property
Residents are asked to remain calm, celebrate responsibly, follow law enforcement guidance, and look out for one another. Families come first, and there is zero tolerance for violence or disorder.
