Описание: Relive November 20, 1957, 7AM to 8AM. Extremely rare segment takes us back in time to the live set of NBC's The Today Show from New York. The famous row of clocks. Teletype machines and telephones are there as well as Dave Garroway takes you through the events of the day. Also features are Helen O'Connell, Frank Blair, Jack Lascoulie and Kokomo the Chimp. The newscast tells of transistors and Kruchev, plus Cuban rebels for Castro stirring up trouble. There's also "Daves Album," the people of New York through a store window front, and the ad-libbing and conversations with the director on camera that you'll only find on live TV. National promos for NBC shows include You Bet Your Life and The People's Choice. The News, the weather, Dave enjoys a Grand Prix Speedway Auto Race slot car set where everyone has fun, Dave reads poetry to Kokomo Jr., and the chimp loves it! The teletype shows the temperature in all the major cities of the United States, as well as the call letters of the NBC TV station there. Especially enjoyable is the New Yorker's looking in on the show, at Kokomo, and at Dave. Notice the men and women's hats, a look of a bygone era. Kokomo Jr. replaced J. Fred Muggs as the animal mascot of the Today Show in 1957, so there were actually two different chimps that were mascots on the Today show. Toward the end more New Yorker's are shown through the window enjoying Kokomo the chimp. What a time capsule! Mastered from 16mm b-w kinescope film.
