The Üble Schlucht (Üble Gorge) is located at the level of the Laterns-Thal parcel on the Frutz valley floor.
You can reach the Üble Gorge on marked hiking trails:
from Laterns-Thal (GH Löwen) over the meadows to the entrance of the gorge at Fluhschrofen (1/2 hour)
Circular hike: from Laterns-Thal over the Bädleweg to Frutz - Netschelweg - descent to Frutz - through the Üble gorge - back to the starting point (2 3/4 hours)
from Rankweil, Vorarlberg via the Netschelweg (2 hours)
from Übersaxen, Vorarlberg over the Alpe Wies (2 hours)

Brief information
What could be nicer than enjoying the coolness of a gorge on a hot summer day and listening to the rush of the water?
Amazing rock formations, a waterfall, impressive play of light and water await the hiker who has dared to descend into the depths of the Frutztal.
The special geological formations and the type of rock, mainly pebble-lime, were the prerequisites for the Frutz river to pave its way over the centuries and cut deeply into the terrain.
The Üble Gorge was already an obstacle that was difficult to overcome in earlier times. While the path through the gorge used to be an important route connection into the valley areas of the Rhine Valley, it is now only used as a hiking trail.

Important tips
The path through the Üble Gorge is marked as an alpine trail . Even in midsummer, due to the moisture on the paths, stairs and bridges, caution is always required (risk of slipping, among other things).
