State heritage Romilly House/2019 explore before vandalism/History added/Plans for revival

Описание: Hey house lovers and explorers! Well this explore is one that took place over 5 years ago. Known as Romilly house and more recently as Hackney Lodge boarding house it was soon popping up on the news regarding vandals targeting so I decided to hang on to the footage I had from the explore until now. Thankfully it seems the new owners have plans to revive the old building in some way hopefully a full restoration as it has been vacant since 2017 after being shut down due to a cockroach infestation. Built in the 1870`s as a Hotel, Boarding house, mixed business and commercial offices over the decades and even boasts having the first topless bar in Adelaide run from the cellar basement area in the early 90`s. Rudi Bodonyi purchased the building in 1990 and ran the Hackney Lodge hostel/boarding house for most of that period. Unfortunately after it was shut down in 2017 Rudi tried to take on most of the repairs and maintenance himself as a 90 year old and such a scenario was doomed to fail along with the senseless vandalism that was taking place. Rudi sadly passed away in 2022 leaving the estate to be sold to new owners as mentioned with plans to revitalize the site. Lets hope it has a brighter future from here as a part of South Australia`s heritage and history. Hope you all enjoy, cheers for watching :-)
