I was curious if Garageband on the iPad will work with a midi keyboard.
So I recently bought a Camera Connection Kit to find it out.
Here is my experience with the 3rd Generation iPad:
The first time it pops up an error message "USB device uses too much power".
After disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable with the CCKit, there is no error message, but led lights of the keyboard were on.
I managed to get it working with Garageband. I can change all the effects and everything worked as I expected. The only problem was the volume, even at maximum volume on the iPad, it still sounded little too soft.
Anyway it works well with headphones.
