20 Toy Story References In Disney’s Lightyear

Описание: Lightyear is an Easter Egg haven with so many references to Toy Story it might make your head spin. From Buzz’s sick fighting skills to the reflection in his helmet harkening back to his crash landing arrival on Andy’s bed. A ton of Buzz’s lines from the movies managed to make it in as well, and we aren’t just talking about the ones in his voice box. You may recall from Toy Story that crystallic fusion is how Buzz powered his ship. Well, it was finally made real for the movie. Zurg and his lesser-remembered Zurg Bots from Toy Story 2 made an appearance. Quite obviously, the movie contained Buzz’s famous space ranger suit but his fellow space rangers also got to wear them and we are expecting a line of toys that include the other characters. He also got his famous “To infinity and beyond” line in there far more wholesomely than we would have anticipated. Of course, certain quirky character traits were kept like Buzz’s need to log everything he says, despite the absent Star Command. Which, Buzz’s comment on that is also a direct quote from Toy Story. The Pizza Planet truck made a little cameo and we have to wonder if it was just meant as a nod to Toy Story of if Pizza Planet exists in the Lightyear universe as well. The little three-eyed green dudes and possibly Rex also made an appearance. Not only were the Toy Story movies referenced but also the content within the content, like the video game Rex plays and the commercial advertising Buzz. It’s quite impressive just how true they were able to stay to Toy Story’s original vision for Buzz Lightyear.
