Qualifying Retriever Field Trial - 4th Series (Rose Country Retriever Club)

Описание: 31 dogs started and there were 6 dogs left in this final series. This series was painful for me. Buck couldn’t see the left go-bird as the sun was reflecting so bad off the water. It was also directly in your eyes really bad, but you can’t tell from this video as I have the camera shaded. It was much worse then it looked in the video.

Buck just never saw the go-bird. I could tell by his body language and the way he left the line. He glanced back at me a couple times after I sent him. I still think he should have crossed the water and tried, but it was a big piece of water to swim across if you never saw the bird.

In hind sight, I should have primary selected and changed to send him for the memory bird. That would have given him confidence to go across the water and he would have been able to see the left gun when he picked up the right bird.

That just how it goes sometimes, but it sure was a hard pill to swallow.

Three dogs handled on this with one dog getting picked up. Buck ended up getting a Reserve Jam.
