🎯 Guidelines for organising Students' Week in January 2026

🛑 Students' Week is celebrated in a meaningful and comprehensive manner across the State from January 1 to January 7th, by the State Government. In this regard and as planned by the State Education Department different programmes will be observed in all schools, SSKs, MSKs, Colleges, educational institutions, and universities from 1ª January to 8th January 2026. Similar celebrations will also take place at the district level.


🛑 The week-long initiative aims to enhance holistic learning, lifeskills, 21st-century skills, and promote inclusive education, community engagement fostering rounded development among students. It will focus on raising awareness about various beneficial schemes implemented by the State Government. Key activities include facilitating and mobilizing beneficiaries for the Student Credit Card Scheme, Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Aikyashree, and Pre- and Post-Matric Scholarships.


🛑 Additionally, the programme will feature the distribution of textbooks, sharing of the Shubheccha Barta from the Hon'ble Chief Minister, and the initiation of activities and policies approved by the School Education Department. A variety of cultural and co-curricular activities, as outlined below, will also form an integral part of the celebrations, emphasizing skill development, creativity, and community engagement.

🛑 1. Committee formation:

To celebrate the week-long programme in a befitting manner, the District Magistrate shall lead the initiatives and engage each stake holders to ensure smooth and successful implementation of the week-long programme. Additional District Magistrate (Education), all district and sub district level education officers will leave no stone unturned to ensure its success.


🛑 2. Tentative Schedule:
Cleaning & sanitation of Schools/ SSK/MSK/ Colleges/ Educational Institutions/Universities to be done by 31.12.2025.
This week-long programme at the School, College, and University level will be held from 01.01.2026 to 08.01.2026. The programme will be tentatively for 2 hours each day (preferably from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm or as per convenience of the authority of the educational institution).
🛑 The programme on 01.01.2026 may be decided by the school authority.

🛑 At school level, on the first day, the Head of the Institution (Hol) may conduct the assembly in open air or in the Assembly Hall. The Hol will extend his acknowledgment and best wishes to the students on successfully graduating to their new classes. She/He shall also brief the students in general, about the heritage of the school, and of the week-long celebration ahead and discuss about the different policies and activities of SED.

🛑Assembly will start with the State song and the Hol will take the opportunity to
highlight any noteworthy accomplishments of students either in the school or beyond.


In respective classes, the teachers will deliver the tentative schedule of week-long celebration and introduction of the class specific new activities which is to be implemented. She/He shall also speak importance of maintenance of personal hygiene, sanitization, hand washing, need for empathy and how to engage with peers.

The Shubheccha Barta of Hon'ble Chief Minister along-with school Text Books and khatas will be distributed among students.
