Teaching Purpose/Suggestions: The students have learned these two songs as individual songs earlier in the program. “Canoe Song” is song #15 and “Land of the Silver Birch” is song #30. Review the individual songs and explain to the students how they can be combined in a choral arrangement. Now put them together in a choral arrangement as a two part partner song. They will sing verse one of Land of the Silver Birch, then sing Canoe Song, and then sing both songs together, singing verse two of Land of the Silver Birch. The voices will rest between each section.
