Omkareshwar Temple is a wonderful temple which is about 5000 years old and the only attraction in Ukhimath. Omkareshwar Temple is an integral part of the great Panch Kedar and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

During winter due to heavy snowfall, the Temple is closed and no one stays in Kedarnath. For six months (November to April) the Palki of Lord Kedarnath is transferred to a place near Guptkashi called Ukhimath.
