Описание: I'm diving into food history by cooking and tasting a recipe from the first ever Chinese takeaway in London. Although the world is now obsessed with Chinese food - from takeout to fakeaways - it wasn't always so popular in the West.

So, I'm re-creating a delicious sweet and sour pork recipe that was the most popular dish in London's first Chinese restaurant from 1908.

Recipes:

Pork Marinade:
1 teaspoon sugar
Pepper
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 teaspoon Shaoxing wine
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 egg white
1/2 teaspoon salt

Sweet & Sour Sauce:
4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons cornflour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons ketchup
