The risk:
A software error in the occupant restraint controller module may:
Prevent the driver’s airbag and/or seat belt pretensioner from deploying
Disable the electronic stability control system

These vehicles fail to comply with FMVSS 208 and 126.
A disabled stability control system increases crash risk, and non-deploying airbags or seat belts significantly increase the risk of serious injury or death.

The remedy:
Dealers will update the restraint controller software, free of charge.
