Entomophily is a type of pollination that takes place with the help of insects. Insects are attracted to flowers by their color and fragrance. Majority of Insect pollinated flowers are large, brightly coloured, fragrant and rich in nectar. The odour produced can be pleasant or foul. In order to sustain frequent insect visits, the flowers reward these insects with abundance of nectar and pollen grains. When the insects visit these flowers, their body gets coated with pollen grains and these pollen grains when come in contact with the stigma, bring about pollination. Some flowers are pollinated by bees. Bee pollinated flowers are blue or yellow. Pollen grains are often used as food by bees; hence large number of pollen grains is produced by such flowers.
