Bur Oak Tree Early Summer Maintenance

Описание: Early summer maintenance of young bur oak trees! Today I took the majority of the day fertilizing and weeding the 36 bur oak trees I planted over the last two years. Things look better than last time! If you are planting your own trees, one thing to remember is that they do not reach their full awesomeness for three to five years and these trees are one and two years old.

Three years after planting is the real turn-around year. If the trees are not going very well by then there may be something wrong. Most trees really take off in the third year -- some in the second, but for the most part it's three years. At five years trees should be fully acclimated and have a massive root system. At five years they should excel -- if not, you may want to replace it.
