What is Olanzapine ( Zyprexa )?

Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic. This drug's efficacy is mediated through a combination of dopamine and serotonin type 2 (5HT2) antagonism.

It is available as 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg tablets. And available as 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg and 20 mg orally-disintegrating tablet. And also available as injection.

Olanzapine is used to treat certain mental/mood conditions (such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder). It may also be used in combination with other medication to treat depression.
