In this video, I build a 3.7V to 30V boost converter using an IRFZ44N MOSFET without any dedicated boost IC.
This DIY DC-DC step-up converter is powered by a single 18650 battery.
Components used:
IRFZ44N MOSFET
SR4100 Schottky Diode (4A 100V)
10kΩ potentiometer
270Ω resistor
2× 100nF ceramic capacitors
1000µF 25V electrolytic capacitor
330µF 100V electrolytic capacitor
40-turn hand-wound inductor (1.5mm copper wire)
Under load output: 30V
No-load voltage: up to 60V
Full wiring and real measurements are shown in the video.
