I explain a composite profile requirement and show how to inspect on a surface plate.
I briefly discuss the reporting requirements of ASME Y14.45-2021.
This technique of applying profile with a basic dimension to surfaces is strongly encouraged by ASME Y14.5-2018. I attempt to explain why it is not that different from using a plus-minus tolerance as far as manufacturing is concerned.
