If you are looking for some sport, one of the most beautiful ice rinks in Germany awaits you on Karlsplatz with a view of the world-famous castle ruins.

Bismarckplatz and Heidelberg winter forest on the Kornmarkt:

The squares of the Heidelberg Christmas market
Bismarckplatz
As the entrance to the old town, Bismarckplatz with its pre-Christmas atmosphere sets the mood for an unforgettable Christmas market visit.

Universitätsplatz
The largest square of the Christmas market is located in the middle of the Old and New Universities. With its many decorated stalls, you will find everything that brings joy and your heart desires. The historic jumping horse carousel, which is over 100 years old, makes children's eyes light up and is a magnet for young and old.

Kornmarkt
With over 100 sparkling fir trees, the white pointed tents and the lovingly decorated nativity scene, the Heidelberg winter forest is a very special experience. A wide variety of culinary delights, hand-made arts and crafts and the children's railway invite you to linger.

Anatomy Garden
In front of the monument to the chemist Robert Bunsen, festively decorated huts invite you to visit.

Karlsplatz
The atmospheric ice landscape guarantees fun skating on real ice in a unique atmosphere. With a fantastic view of Heidelberg Castle, you can enjoy many Christmas delicacies on the square.

Market Square
The wooden Christmas town around the Hercules Fountain has a unique attraction: a large wooden barrel with a rotating Perkeo, Heidelberg's symbolic figure, on the roof. Pink Monday takes place here on December 2nd.

Santa Claus's House on the Market Square
Experience Santa Claus live in Heidelberg!
For a minimum donation of €5.00, visitors of all ages can visit Santa Claus and take a photo or video with their smartphone. The Lions Club Heidelberg-Altstadt uses the donations to support Heidelberg children's projects.
