Report released on ethics complaint against Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley over viral traffic stop

Описание: Rochester, N.Y. — The Monroe County Office of Public Integrity released the findings Monday from its investigation into an ethics complaint against District Attorney Sandra Doorley.

The investigation followed an April 22 incident in which Doorley was caught speeding on Phillips Road in Webster but continued driving home rather than pulling over for police.

When police caught up with Doorley at her home, she was caught on camera berating the responding officers and explaining that she had called Webster Police Chief Dennis Kohlmeier to explain that she was not a threat.

The incident prompted outrage from the community. Doorley refused to resign and has declined requests from 13WHAM to discuss the incident on camera.

The investigation found Doorley violated multiple rules and regulations for county-issued vehicles, including not contacting her fleet manager immediately or at all.

"This is a very unique situation whereas the department head is the person who violated the policy," explained Janson McNair, director of the Monroe County Office of Public Integrity. "We want to make sure that our public officials are acting in a way that they would expect the public to act."
