There is a blessing meant for me,
Yet it’s not often what I think it should be.
It’s not great might or riches of this earth,
But a blessing of Christ and his infinite worth.

Plant me, lord, by the life-giving stream,
Like a tree that stands firm all of its days.
Let the truth of your word nourish me
That I may be steadfast in your ways.
Verse 2
Guard me God against the foolishness of sin,
Help me to discern those I should trust in.
Let my seat not be among the scoffers,
As I drink deep of the truth, you offer.

Verse 3
In the end, the wicked will not stand,
Yet the righteous will delight in your hand.
Not because of what we have done,
But because of the grace of your son.

Like a tree among the waters of your grace
Make me fruitful in this earthly place
Help me fear your name in holy reverence
